Upcoming Events at the Fernie Arts Station

WeeFest

Friday, February 19 @ 7:00pm

Music! Theatre! Poetry! WeeFest is a multi-genre, single night festival that showcases some of the best local talent in Fernie. The eclectic line-up features something fun for everybody. Known for its over-the-top, multimedia live performances, spacerock band Bubba Tres serves as the wacky host to an evening of theatre, musical acts, and poetry by local writer Keith Liggett.

Tickets $15 at:

Freshies; Carosella’s, The Blue Toque & The Arts Station.

From the Figure to the Visage

Ongoing to February 22

Local artist Liza Gareau-Tosh has spent the past six winters in Fernie and the past lifetime making art. Liza has a keen interest in people and a watchful eye for how people can be works of art. This is the essence of her show at the Arts Station. From the Figure to the Visage is a departure from her usual colourful abstracts that have been seen in Fernie over the years, as Liza returns to her roots as an artist with portraiture and sketching. Come find out why she got into art in the first place. The show combines portraiture, figure drawings, acrylic paintings, and lithographs.

For more information on these and other great events going on during February at the Arts Station, please visit their website.
